We were walking through the bush, and we saw two adult oribi about 400 metres away. They kept running and stopping to look back, trying hard to stay within visual distance of us slowpokes.
The reason only became apparent when we found the baby by the side of the path. This baby was about 1-2 weeks old and their method of camouflage is to lie down perfectly still in the grass. We would never have seen it if the grass wasn't so short due to a fire.
The baby oribi did not even blink.

Something spooked these puku while we were on a walk (not us) so I tried a panning shot. I think it worked. (Taken at Mcbrides Camp).

The elephant's treading causes insects to fly up from the grass. The birds at the elephant's feet pick off the insects. The puku feel safe around the elephant as predators would think twice before wandering into an elephant's path.
Taken at McBrides' camp in Kafue National Park, Zambia.
