Forward the stampeding herd
Was there one dismay'd?
One horned creature knew
Someone had blunder'd:
Their's not to make reply,
Their's not to reason why,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
Tiger to right of them,
Leopard to left of them,
Lioness in front of them,
Snarled and thunder'd;
Storm'd at with growl and knell,
Boldly they ran and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.
